Environmental Foam Solutions got its start right here in Port Charlotte. Since 2016, Shawn and Jessica have been helping homeowners, HOAs, property managers, contractors, and businesses throughout Port Charlotte and Charlotte County repair settled concrete using high-density polyurethane injection.
This is where we built some of our earliest customer and contractor relationships and where we still complete a large amount of our work today. From pool decks and driveways to sidewalks, patios, walkways, and waterfront properties, we have years of hands-on experience with the concrete and soil conditions found throughout Port Charlotte.
Our work takes us throughout the area, including Murdock, El Jobean, Harbour Heights, Deep Creek, Charlotte Harbor, and nearby communities across Charlotte County.
Concrete Settlement in Port Charlotte
Concrete settlement is common throughout Southwest Florida. Sandy soils, erosion, drainage problems, water movement, poor compaction, and hidden voids can all contribute to slabs becoming uneven or losing support.
Sometimes the problem is easy to see, such as one section of a pool deck or sidewalk sitting lower than the section beside it. Other times, the concrete may still look fairly level even though soil has already washed away underneath.
When the existing slab is still in good condition, polyurethane injection can often be used to stabilize the area and carefully lift settled sections instead of removing and replacing the concrete. This type of concrete lifting is also commonly called concrete raising or polyjacking.
Pool Deck Repair in Port Charlotte
Pool deck repair and stabilization has been a major part of our work in Port Charlotte from the beginning.
Over the years, we have worked with Resurrection Pools on many pool deck projects throughout Port Charlotte and the surrounding area. When a deck has settled or developed unsupported areas beneath it, we handle the lifting and stabilization before resurfacing or renovation work continues.
That matters because resurfacing can improve the appearance of a pool deck, but it does not correct settlement underneath the slab. Addressing the underlying support first gives the renovation a better starting point.
Pool decks can settle in isolated sections, develop uneven transitions, or lose support because of erosion and washout around the pool area. Polyurethane allows us to address those conditions with much less disruption than removing large sections of the deck.
We see these issues throughout established Port Charlotte neighborhoods as well as waterfront areas closer to Charlotte Harbor, El Jobean, and Gulf Cove.
Sidewalk Repair and Community Work
Uneven sidewalks can become a serious concern in neighborhoods, communities, commercial properties, and HOA-managed areas.
Environmental Foam Solutions has worked with many communities, HOAs, property managers, businesses, and municipalities on sidewalk leveling and trip-hazard repairs. Here in Port Charlotte, that work has included projects at Sunshine Villas HOA, along with many other residential and community properties throughout the area.
Polyurethane lifting can often correct isolated settled sidewalk panels without replacing long stretches of otherwise usable concrete. This can be especially useful in larger communities where several individual sections have settled over time.
Driveway Concrete Leveling
Driveways can settle when water washes material away from beneath the slab or when underlying soils continue to compact.
Common signs include dropped sections near the garage, uneven transitions between slabs, or areas that no longer line up the way they once did.
When lifting is appropriate, we inject polyurethane beneath the affected section and make controlled adjustments as the slab rises.
Driveway settlement is something we see throughout Port Charlotte, from older neighborhoods near the center of town to growing areas around Murdock and the northwestern side of the community.
Void Filling and Soil Stabilization
Not every problem begins with a dramatic drop in the concrete.
A slab may still appear fairly level while significant empty space has developed beneath it. Once that support is gone, the concrete becomes more vulnerable to future settlement and cracking.
In these situations, the goal may be stabilization rather than lifting. Polyurethane can be used beneath pool decks, patios, sidewalks, driveways, garage slabs, and other concrete surfaces where erosion or washout has created unsupported areas.
Every job is different, so the repair depends on what is actually happening beneath the slab.
Waterfront Properties and Seawall-Area Stabilization
Waterfront properties are a major part of Port Charlotte, particularly around Charlotte Harbor, Harbour Heights, El Jobean, Gulf Cove, and South Gulf Cove.
When soil is lost behind or near a seawall, empty spaces may develop beneath walkways, patios, pool decks, and other slabs on the property.
Environmental Foam Solutions performs landside polyurethane seawall-area soil stabilization and void filling when this type of repair is appropriate.
We do not rebuild seawalls or perform structural seawall construction. Our work focuses on soil loss, voids, and unsupported concrete on the property side.
How Polyurethane Concrete Lifting Works
Small injection ports are drilled through the slab so polyurethane can be placed beneath the concrete.
As the material reacts and expands, it moves into empty spaces below the surface. When lifting is needed, controlled injections can gradually raise the settled slab.
We use a rotating laser level during the repair to monitor movement and help keep the lift controlled and precise.
Polyurethane cures quickly, which also helps minimize downtime compared with removing and replacing the existing slab.
Not Every Settled Slab Needs Replacement
Uneven or cracked concrete does not automatically mean the entire slab has to be torn out.
Sometimes replacement is the right choice. But when the existing concrete is still structurally usable, lifting and stabilization may be a more practical option.
The important part is understanding why the slab moved in the first place. Erosion, washout, poor compaction, and hidden voids can all contribute to settlement, so the repair should address more than just what is visible at the surface.
Owner-Operated Since 2016
Environmental Foam Solutions is owner-operated, with Shawn and Jessica working directly with customers from the inspection through the repair.
There are no commissioned salespeople and no rotating crews.
We inspect the area, explain what we see, and give our price up front. We do not add surprise charges in the middle of the job.
Our goal is to keep the process straightforward and recommend the repair that makes sense for the concrete in front of us.
